Colin started beekeeping in the summer of 2011. He had long held an interest in sustainability and agriculture, keeping his own organic garden and raising chickens at his home in Cornwall, NY. Working with honeybees was the link that connected his interests in the environment, sustainability and agriculture. Starting with just two hives at his home, Colin's work with honeybees quickly expanded throughout the Hudson Valley and New York City. Colin has worked with hives at Jones Farm, Storm King Art Center and Socrates Sculpture Park, among others. He has led educational honeybee tours as part of Peter Coffin's Light and Landscape exhibit at Storm King Art Center since 2012 and has led several educational lectures in the Hudson Valley. Colin seeks to help his hives flourish and educate others about honeybees, but also to help people realize that we can all play a part in fixing the environment.
